This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, free a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the office that holds the record or has custody.

Official Contacts for Records and Custody

The correct office depends on whether the question concerns local jail custody, a court document, or a state-prison record. Collingsworth County does not publish sheriff office hours, release-counter hours, or a separate records-unit address, so call before an in-person visit.

TDCJ Review and Release Processing

8610 Shoal Creek Blvd.
Austin, TX 78757
Phone: 512-406-5449
Use this office for process questions after a favorable release vote. It is not a locator for someone held in Collingsworth County Jail.

Use the following routes to narrow the request before calling:

  • For a released person or local release entry, the home page covers the complete search path and sheriff-record request.
  • For parole or probation after release, use the Parole & Probation guide.
  • For a same-day exit inquiry, follow the 24-Hour Release List workflow; Collingsworth publishes no official recent-release feed.
  • For a future date or custody-change alert, use the Projected Release Date and VINELink Check pages.
  • For local jail details, use the Collingsworth County Jail page listed in the footer.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use TDCJ's statewide search and inmate-information channels.
  • For federal prison or immigration detention, use the official BOP or ICE locator for that separate custodian.

Ask Before Using the Clerk's Published Fee

The Collingsworth County Clerk page publishes a recording fee for official public records, but that price concerns recording and does not establish the charge for a criminal docket, judgment, or certified court copy. Repeating it as a criminal-record fee would be unsupported. Ask the clerk for the current copy and certification estimate for the exact document needed.

The County Clerk and District Clerk pages identify the same clerk and contact information, which can simplify an initial inquiry. The file still must be routed to the court with jurisdiction. Specify the person's name, case number if known, court level, and the document sought. Judicial records follow court access rules, while sheriff-held booking and release records use the Texas Public Information Act process.

Questions about chapter 552 procedure can go to the Texas Attorney General Open Government Hotline at 877-673-6839. The cost hotline is 888-672-6787. These services explain the request and charge rules; they do not search Collingsworth records or retrieve a release entry.
